About Me

Welcome to my web site! I am Mrs. Annette Duffy and starting my 20th year teaching in the Hill City Middle School. Growing up in the Hill City area, developed my love for nature and a strong appreciation for the Black Hills. I live in the Hill City area, married and have five grown children, and 12 grandchildren.  I enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time with my family.
I believe it is important as a teacher to develop respectful, honest relationships with students. Developing trust and communication between students and teachers creates a safe environment for learning.  In my classes, students will take an active role in their education, developing confidence and skills to communicate with each other, and with an extended real life audience.

October 2018

The school year is off to a great start!  Students are working hard, and adjusting to the new school year.  The ELA classes are going well.  I am trying out an online planning site.  I have shared the link with the students, and would like to share with the parents as well.  The link will automatically update to the next week. Please remember all lesson plans are subject to change at any time.  The week's lessons will still be on the board in my room and the students still write them in their planners. Check out the link for Vocabulary Lists, too. Hopefully this will help keep everyone updated!
